Learning Reinforcement Onboarding
Author for reuse.
Project Background:
At this point my team owned several tools within our organization’s learning ecosystem. A new learning reinforcement authoring platform was being added to our toolbox. Unfortunately the onboarding provided by the vendor did not meet our expectations or needs. My task was to develop an internal learning reinforcement onboarding program and performance support to enable other Instructional Designers to build successful learning reinforcement programs. If we were successful, we would eliminate the need to pay for less than stellar vendor onboarding for future Instructional Designers, and we would champion this new platform to the internal customers that comprised our decentralized learning organization.
With any project I work on, I map out the content for reuse opportunities and when possible use single source publishing strategies. In this case a Learning Activity based around Bloom’s Taxonomy was one piece that was reused in other content targeted towards new Instructional Designers and Curriculum Managers.
As a result of this program we delivered future onboarding sessions internally, developed performance support for business processes, and prevented further spend on external vendor costs related to onboarding and support.
